The goal of the sales team is to generate new business opportunities and build awareness of South Walton as a destination for the meetings and conventions, incentives, weddings, and consumer travel markets. We aim to be a trusted source of information while inspiring group travel to South Walton.

Luxury Meetings Live, Birmingham, October 18 – This is a highly social event and fast-paced open market where Luxury Hotels, Resorts & Destinations meet one-on-one with Corporate & Association Meeting Planners who are actively looking to find the ideal location for their next meeting, conference, exposition, or event.
Client Event in Birmingham in conjunction with Hoffman Media
We took a taste of South Walton to meeting planners based in Birmingham, Ala. on Oct. 27. Thank you to a few partners who participated in the event: Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa, The Pearl, and WaterColor Inn.
Chef Fleetwood Covington from Seagar's and Executive Chef Dan Tederous with Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa created a delightful culinary experience that included Alaskan King Crab Oscar and New York Strip with Bacon-fat Bearnaise.
Attendees raved about the food! It was an incredible representation of our destination!
Artist Justin Gaffrey also participated by creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art live during the event. Meeting planners were captivated by his talent, as well as his conversations while he created. A drawing at the end of the event resulted in one lucky winner becoming the owner of the piece.
Thank you to all three ambassadors for taking time to showcase their amazing talents to represent South Walton so well! Many attendees mentioned it was the best in-market event they had attended, and all 21 qualified meeting planners said they will keep Walton County in mind for a future meeting based on the event.
To date, we have received one RFP for a May 2024 group of approximately 600 total room nights.
Visitor Center Updates:
The visitor center staff welcomed 1,661 people during the month of October and sold $21,120 in Walton County merchandise
Our featured item for November is our 18 oz. heavy Canvas Tote, with navy accents on the straps and bottom. The Tote is 25"W x 14"H x 9"D and has a zipper enclosure. It features a full-color South Walton logo embroidered on front pocket and is available in natural beige/navy.
