2023 Perfect in Walton County Awards:

The nomination period has ended and the top five nominees in each category are now in the final voting round, which began Sept. 26 and ends at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 on perfectinwaltoncounty.com

Residents and visitors alike can vote for their favorite Walton County businesses, events, and activities during this time, but only one online form per email address is accepted. (No duplicates will be counted.) Finalists may encourage their guests, customers, followers, the general public, friends, and family to vote for their businesses on their social media channels. Remember: Every Vote Counts! The top three businesses with the highest number of votes in each category will be recognized as Diamond, Platinum or Gold winners at the Perfect in Walton County Awards in Jan. 2023.

2023 Walton County Artist of the Year:

The submission period for the Walton County Artist of the Year Award program closed on Sept. 16. The judges will interview the finalists in person and choose the 2023 Artist of the Year winner, who will be featured in the 2023 Perfect in Walton County guide and announced during the Perfect in Walton County Awards presentation in January 2023. 

This community program showcases local artists, promoting the selected artist’s work throughout the year through a variety of publicity opportunities and events. The winner will also receive an award of $4,000 in exchange for a commissioned piece of artwork that will be on display in Walton County.


TDC Council and Committee Applications:

The Walton County Tourism Department will begin accepting applications for seats on the Walton County Tourist Development Council and the three TDC Advisory Committees (Destination Improvements, Marketing & Communications, and North Walton Tourist Advisory) from 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 until 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.

The mission of the Walton County Tourism Department is to direct and manage activities that will strengthen the position of Walton County in the tourism marketplace, while also increasing the tourism economy of Walton County. The tourism department will manage and maintain our beaches as a primary attraction and serve as a responsible industry organization to take a leadership role in addressing issues that affect tourism and the quality of life in Walton County. In an effort to increase community involvement, volunteer advisory committees were established. These committees will assist with tourist development and creative initiatives.

To learn more about the applications, guidelines, and code of conduct, go to visitsouthwalton.com/committee-applications, where a link to each committee application will be posted at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. These webpages will also have a link to download an application if you’d prefer to mail or drop it off at the Visitor Center, located at 25777 US Highway 331 South, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

The team has been meeting with various industry partners to discuss how being a Walton County Tourism partner would be beneficial for their business(es), especially as we are highlighting the northern part of our county and its attractions, in addition to South Walton, in our print guides and on our website.
