National Travel and Tourism Week:
The Walton County Tourism Department celebrated National Travel and Tourism Week May 1-7 with a series of events, including giveaways at the visitor center, a meet and greet with 2022 Walton County Artist of the Year, Joseph Messer, educational workshops for our partners, and sponsoring the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce's May Power of Business Lunch.
Workshops featured tips, tricks, and valuable insight from Brooke Bailey and Jenifer Edleman with Zehnder Communications, as well as dynamic solutions to step up your customer service game from Scott Russell with Russell & Russell Consulting.
During the Power of Business Lunch, sponsored by Visit South Walton, Brian Kellenberger, interim tourism director, and Kat Andry, Zehnder Communications, shared updates on where the tourism department is headed in the future and the strategies that guide its decisions and marketing efforts.
Tourism is the No. 1 economic driver in Walton County, and the May 4 lunch was an opportunity to share how tourism directly impacts the community and supports the businesses that make Walton County an incredible place to live, work and play.
