SALES + VISITOR CENTER
The goal of the sales team is to generate new business opportunities and build awareness of South Walton as a destination for the meetings and conventions, incentives, weddings, and consumer travel markets. We aim to be a trusted source of information while inspiring group travel to South Walton.
Recent Industry Events:
- Florida Encounter, Jan. 24-27
- We had 31 one-on-one appointments at this show that hosted qualified meeting professionals with proven business in Florida. So far, we've received 2 RFP's, so be on the lookout for more to come.
- Meeting Planner FAM, Feb. 3-6
- We hosted 8 meeting planners, all of whom we met with at appointment tradeshows and either have interest in or have a group that can meet in South Walton. We'll share more information next month.
Visitor Center Updates:
For the month of January, the Visitor Center welcomed 1,442 guests and sold $11,603 in merchandise. We offer a convenient in-store pickup option is available through our online store, so visitors or residents who are nearby can place an order online and skip the shipping costs by picking up their merchandise at the Visitor Center. Curbside pickup is also available.
New VBA Manager:
The Walton County Tourism Department officially welcomed Donna DonFrancesco (pictured below) to our team as Beach Ambassador Manager. Donna comes to us with extensive beach ambassador experience having served as a Seasonal Beach Ambassador in 2020 and 2021 as well as one of the (30) original Volunteer Beach Ambassadors in 2016 (and every year since) under Laurie Reichenbach’s direction.
Laurie founded the Volunteer Beach Ambassador Program in 2016 and has served as Director of that program from 2016-2021. Laurie also served as Lead Beach Ambassador for Walton County from Jan. 2020-Dec. 2021. Laurie’s last day was Dec. 3, and she has turned the reins over to Donna to continue the Beach Ambassador Program. We appreciate all Laurie has done for this County and look forward to working with Donna and her team.

The sweatshirts are 80% cotton/20% polyester and pre-shrunk. They are available in various colors and sizes small -XXL.
