National Travel and Tourism Week:

Please join the TDC in celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week May 2-8, 2021! Tourism is the No.1 economic driver in Walton County. In 2020, almost 4.5 million visitors spent $3.6 billion, accounting for a total economic impact of $5.3 billion in Walton County, while also creating 27,800 jobs.

As part of National Travel and Tourism Week, Visit South Walton will host several tourism and hospitality workshops on Thursday, May 6 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Linkside Exhibit Hall in Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. Speakers include Dave Serino of TwoSix Digital, who will speak about social media messaging; Jason Sprenkle and Scott McLeod of KeyData Dashboard, who will speak about visitation trends; and Scott Russell of Russell & Russell Consulting, who will speak about hospitality training. Media Hot Leads Program:

We are launching a MEDIA HOT LEADS PROGRAM, designed to share media requests for your input directly and in real-time. Our PR agency, TURNER, will be sharing media requests with you through this dedicated email program, and you will be able to directly submit your information for media consideration.  Please note, submitting your information is not a guarantee that you will be included in editorial coverage but ensures you are considered for inclusion.   

Each email will detail the media request, as well as any special requirements from the journalist. Some of the leads might not be relevant to all our tourism partners, but the program will enable you to more easily share your news when relevant and could potentially result in additional media coverage. Please feel free to have any of your team, or PR agency partners, sign up to receive the media leads to ensure your ability to respond.
